Recently, I had been to Food Bazaar (Andheri West) which is part of the BIG BAZAAR retail chains .

I found that some of the items kept there were way beyond their expiry dates(eg a sunscreen lotion of Blossom Kochchar had expiry as Jan 2008),but still they were on the shelves.

Isnt it the lookout of these chain owners to keep stock of such things?The unsuspecting consumer,usually time-pressed, cannot afford to check for expiry dates of each & every item of purchase.

The least these chain owners can do is check whether they are selling valid products.This qualifies as cheating on their part to sell such products to the unsuspecting consumer.

I am famous twice over !! :P

HAD gone to school today to wish the Teachers..It felt like old times again..Seeing the kids play,students dressing up like teachers,visiting the old classrooms ,pointing out to the benches we sat on.,greeting the teachers.

The good thing is the school has changed a lot since my passing out ..but definitely,for the better.

The better thing is many ex-students had turned up to wish their teachers.

The best thing is tht all the Teachers still remember me *nose up in the air*

How I could give up something dear to me to be amongst one of these !!!!

A home-maker's job is considered relatively easy as compared to a working lady.

But today,I realise a home-maker's job is even tougher.Keeping the house in order,checking up on all provisions,managing the finances,cater to the kids/hubby etc & keeping ur sanity intact,at the end of it all,is no mean achievement.

I realised this,when my mom was away for 1 whole month & I had to take over her realm.
To massage my ego,I think I did a pretty decent job :-P

I doff my hat to my mom & other home-makers who go abt their 'jobs' uncomplainingly & many a times,thanklessly!!!

Every female (& metrosexuals too ,for that matter ;0)) must get a French manicure done once in a while ..
It gives such a natural look to ur hands ,tht I was adoring them after the procedure.

Shopping for fragrances can be such a perplexing task.

The whiff of different sprays on ur pulses can drive you crazy . U r totally surrounded by such lovely aromas tht u feel like reveling in them. It surely seems an olfactory orgy.

The sprays totally get to you & u feel like u r walking thru' the scents of heaven.

It was a toss-up between and Chanel #5 and Escada and Bvlgari
and many more...I had an olfactory overload.

Ultimately I chose my heart over my mind & selected my eternal fave

I am a happy gal,now :D

Walking barefoot on soft green grass is a bliss I experienced after what seems like eons.

Where do we have the time/inclination to walk..that too,barefoot on anythng save hard ground ?

Saw this bunch of flowers .It immediately brought back childhood memories .This flower used to grow in our society compound & we kiddos(read gals) used to pluck them & adorn our hair..Still Dunno what it is called, but smells heavenly .Pls enlighten if some 1 knows abt it.

Misplaced my ball pen at work 2day.Rather than waste time locating it,I thought it prudent to ask for another one.

Then was struck by a thought tht this wasnt the case 10 years back.In those days , ball-pens were nt mch in use or rather,I did not prefer them much over my Parker Ink-pens. Those were the days when kiddos used ink pens that leaked onto their grubby little palms.They wer prized possessions those days.New ones were flaunted proudly in the class.

I remember I would lovingly fill my ink-pens with Camel /Chelpark ink every night & then put them in my compass .Lying side-by-side,they would be my warriors in notching up academic victories.My Dad gifted me a MONTBLANC Classique on my B-day once .That was my lucky pen. I would write wit it on special occasions like inter-school essay competitions and/or scholarship exams etc & i alwez felt a sense of happiness tht it helped me win several accolades .

My set of Parkers /Pilot Luxor 0 5 /any of the local inkpens was alwys dear to me ...Would not alllow any1 to use them.Would feel low if the nib of any of them broke..Still have many dog-eared yellow-paged books where I hav my writings in ink.

Aah..but where are those days now? Now-a-days u have those Rs xxx pens /use-n-throw ones.I dont feel attached to them as I would to my old loyal ink pens...

Nothing can beat the mazza of sleeping on teh marbled floor on a hot sunny afternoon.

My afternoon siestas are much better tht way.

I remembre the times (days when I were a kid...aah...) when the entire family would be dozing in the afternoon barring me. I would wonder why ppl nap in teh noons. I would twiddle my thumbs , with Mom sleeping & siblings too.I would try to play Teacher -Teacher / doll house/ chor-police ...bt tht would be no fun alone...Could nt watch the TV cos Mom would be disturbed (the real reason being,nothin on TV durin the ol' DD days) .Evenings would be still 2hrs away,so couldnt go to the playground .Would gobble down teh KING fruit by the dozen alone until Mom found out 1 day & warned e strictly nt to gobble up my siblings' share too.

So ,to keep me 'busy' , she asked me to snooze in the noons ..Now I didnt like tht ,bt she would have none of it.So for the 1st few days ,I would keep my eyes shut .but after some days ,would fall asleep thinkin abt the good times ahead...

Wo din the & Aaj ka din hai.
Now I dont miss a single opportunity to doze offf in the noons .As soon as Lunch is done ,I cuddle up in my chadar & zzz-ing in 5 mins max...So mch so..tht Dad always makes it a pt 2 'insulate' me when am nt snoozing.

So one-love why I love the grimy summers ..Happy zzzzzzzzzzzz........

..though definitely not by 'The Men in Blue'.. I doubt they wouldn't be added a color of black if handed over to the frenzied Indian junta .

Came across this link ' India Rising ' . Among other things, it has this section where amateur photographers can upload their pix which have an element of India in them. The best entry will then be judged .A good platform for all budding photographers to showcase their talent.
I could spot some of zeeshanmn s entries too.
