My afternoon siestas are much better tht way.
I remembre the times (days when I were a kid...aah...) when the entire family would be dozing in the afternoon barring me. I would wonder why ppl nap in teh noons. I would twiddle my thumbs , with Mom sleeping & siblings too.I would try to play Teacher -Teacher / doll house/ chor-police ...bt tht would be no fun alone...Could nt watch the TV cos Mom would be disturbed (the real reason being,nothin on TV durin the ol' DD days) .Evenings would be still 2hrs away,so couldnt go to the playground .Would gobble down teh KING fruit by the dozen alone until Mom found out 1 day & warned e strictly nt to gobble up my siblings' share too.
So ,to keep me 'busy' , she asked me to snooze in the noons ..Now I didnt like tht ,bt she would have none of it.So for the 1st few days ,I would keep my eyes shut .but after some days ,would fall asleep thinkin abt the good times ahead...
Wo din the & Aaj ka din hai.
Now I dont miss a single opportunity to doze offf in the noons .As soon as Lunch is done ,I cuddle up in my chadar & zzz-ing in 5 mins max...So mch so..tht Dad always makes it a pt 2 'insulate' me when am nt snoozing.
So one-love why I love the grimy summers ..Happy zzzzzzzzzzzz........
summer afternoons too. I used to read, play
board games/ cards with the neighbour's children
or play house-house, bank-bank or shop-shop.
I agree with you now too - summer afternoons are a good time to doze. :)
